2nd International Conference of the European program “TRENDSS – Transnational Roadmap for Educators in Digital Soft Skills”

The European Erasmus+ project “TRENDSS – Transnational Roadmap for Educators in Digital Soft Skills” was presented at a special event at the hotel “Kierion”, Karditsa on Monday June 27.

The project includes the development of a large toolbox for online education created under the cooperation of experienced European partners. The Greek partner of the program is the organization Helix – Social Innovation Hub from Karditsa, who was also the host of the event. The results of the project were presented by the representatives of the partner organizations, in front of a big group of attendants, local people, representatives of institutions, educators, teachers and trainers from Greece and abroad.

The aim of the program is to develop a series of “tools” appropriately adapted for the Development of digital skills and soft skills. It is also an integrated approach to innovation and offers a variety of useful and alternative pedagogical approaches.
During the event, the following content of the program was briefly presented by the representatives of the Hungarian, Greek, Polish, Romanian and Croatian partner organizations: “Roadmap” for the development of digital skills – “Complex E-solution”, Comparative Methodological Instructions, “Survival Guide” for educators in the digital age, Comparative proposals for digital software, The digital platform “TRENDSS”, Good practices – Educational video tutorial.

What all speakers pointed out, is that digital technology will hardly replace good teachers, but technology in the hands of good teachers can transform the educational process.
The pandemic has inevitably led to digital teaching methods and it is estimated that the world of education will never be the same. Teachers therefore need to develop new skills and develop innovative approaches.
The institutions that participated in the program that was presented, worked on 6 main actions that will allow educators to become more capable and more confident in the “digital classroom”.

In particular, a group of trainers, couches and educators from 6 countries met for the first time in the Netherlands in early 2020 in an international training program. Later, they formed a team to support each other in the educational process and so this program was created, which offers a number of free useful tools: online games and exercises, methodological guidelines, popular applications, e-learning courses, etc.

The TRENDSS (Transnational Roadmap for Educators in Digital Soft Skills) project was brought to life in 2020 as a prompt response to the digital shift in educational paradigms generated by the pandemic. The 2-year-long non-profit project that supports the digital transformation of educators is funded by ERASMUS+ and the European Union.
